Absolutely appalling experience with Sports Direct – a complete disaster from start to finish! I ordered shoes (Order SDNL50001001096021) on 16 May 2025 for €46.99, unaware that the shipment would come from the UK, as this was conveniently omitted from their website. When I realized I’d face long delivery times and customs fees, I immediately requested to cancel the order. What followed was an infuriating saga of incompetence and empty promises.
I contacted their helpdesk multiple times – 31 May, 2 June, 21 June, 4 July, and 24 July – each time being assured that my case was "escalated" and someone would contact me within 14 days. Spoiler alert: no one ever did. On 19 August 2025, I had another frustrating exchange with a rude consultant who demanded a screenshot of my banking app, which my bank (ING Netherlands) doesn’t allow for security reasons. I sent a payment statement instead, only for the consultant to dismiss it and hang up. I even double-checked with my bank, who confirmed they never blocked any refund – Sports Direct’s claim was simply a lie.
This company’s customer service is an absolute disgrace. They dodge accountability, make false promises, and treat customers with utter disrespect. I’ve been chasing my €46.99 refund for months with no resolution, despite providing all necessary proof. I’ve now escalated this to the European Consumer Centre because enough is enough. Avoid Sports Direct at all costs – they’re untrustworthy and unprofessional. One star is too generous!
