“Shoddy trainers. 2 pairs developed squeaks. One of the Everlast trainersI purchased from Isle of Man store began coming apart at the heel within 3 weeks of use. The manager at the Isle of Man store saud they were sold at discount so I cannot return them, she also said I wire them everyday, and I shpukd not have walked on the beach with them. She refused return, floating UK consumer Law. This was the response from Sports Direct Head Office: Hi, Trevor Green. Thank you for reaching out. I’m really sorry for the frustration caused. Please note that in-store purchases can only be handled by the store where they were bought, as we do not have access to store sales. We can only assist with online orders. You’ll need to contact the Isle of Man store directly to resolve this issue. Thanks for your understanding. Thanks, Melvin.”

“After keeping me waiting for almost one hour the sales assistant announced he could not find me the other shoe from the back room. It made my experience very uncomfortable as I really wanted to buy that pair. Made me wonder whether I was a personal target or did he send other customers away in the same manner. Also, I am not sure why but he tried to ensure that I sought help from no other staff member. He went as far as criticising my attempt of getting help from the other guy working there plus the staff at the till from whom I did try and seek help in desperation. Obviously, he was worried about his reputation and inefficiency as a sales assistant. Glad to say that the second member of staff was approachable and found me the other shoe from the back which I eventually purchased! Ps: This was The Sports Direct branch in Tandem Centre and the staff member (I could not catch his name) was a short guy from Indian background with poor Englsh.”

“Paid extra for 48 hour delivery. It took over 5 days and their customer service just didn’t care or offer any discount on the extra £8 delivery charge, despite it being over 5 days late. Reached out to them a few times but they simply said “you can return the items for a refund” and suggested I chase the courier. They just washed their hands of the situation. We paid more as it was a present. We missed the birthday date due to their incompetence. Really unhelpful. I’d been warned against buying from Sport Direct online but ignored the warnings. Big mistake. They also use Evri (voted the worst courier, so unlikely your packages will arrive on time, if at all, anyway). Steer clear!!”

“Ordered online (as I do at many stores/outlets) tried to return an item , can not return it at store !! as it is group policy ! had to arrange a delivery and pay £ 4.99 for it my delivery (many stores will allow client's peace of mind either to return it at store or free delivery) but sports direct insist to make client's life hard! doubt I will deal with them again”

“They shipped the product for 11 EUR (international) and then asked me for another 19 to send it back - which I had to do because they sell their plastic socks as cotton on their website. Their lies cost me 30 EUR and a lot of frustration... Very fair company, RUN AWAY!”

“Sports Direct and EVRI seem to working together to dupe customers. I ordered a bike online but realised it was the wrong size, so asked Sports Direct to cancel the order. However, Sports Direct told me that the order was already processed and I can just reject to the item when it is delivered by EVRI. EVRI will then take it back to Sports Direct warehouse and I will get a FULL refund. However, when the bike arrived at my home and I told the delivery driver I don't want the item, they said they have to deliver it and I need to call EVRI to arrange collection. EVRI is not reachable and Sports Direct is telling me I need to pay a collection fee of £20, after telling me that I will receive a FULL refund. So I am left with a bike that is not the correct size. Please be aware of this SCAM! surprised that a company like Sports Direct is involved in that.”

“I’m sharing this so people don’t end up in the same situation I did. I placed an order with Sports Direct expecting several clothing items (the most expensive part of my order) along with a pair of shoes. What I received was only the shoes, and to make it worse, they even packed a cheap pair of shoes I never ordered instead of the clothing items I actually paid for. So in the end, I received: • 1 pair of the correct shoes • 1 pair of cheap shoes I did NOT order • ZERO of the 4 clothing items, which made up the bulk of the cost When I contacted customer service, instead of helping, they insisted everything was “picked, packed, and delivered” — as if that magically made the missing items appear in my parcel. They refused to refund me, refused to replace the missing items, and showed absolutely no concern about the fact they shipped the wrong products. Their “investigation” felt like a scripted response with no real intention to solve the problem. I’m now having to escalate this through my credit card provider, Trading Standards, and am prepared to take it to small-claims court if necessary. A company that: 1.Sends the wrong items 2.Fails to deliver the items you paid for 3.Refuses refunds or replacements 4.Blames the customer instead of fixing their mistake …is not trustworthy. I strongly warn anyone considering buying from Sports Direct, shop somewhere that actually values its customers and delivers what you order.”
