When I moved out of my address, I discovered the meter was faulty and I couldn't give a final reading. The estimate they gave was far too high and a supervisor at SSE told me that they would investigate it after agreeing it was on the high side. I kept getting emails saying that the bill was outstanding, and it would affect my credit rating. I contacted them again and they told me that those emails would be put on hold. This morning, I had a debt collector agency contacting me asking me for payment, including their charges on top of it. I have spent over an hour this morning (not including previous phone calls to them) dealing with this. I contacted them again today and spoke to their phone operator who kept telling me that my account has been validated? I don’t know what this means, and she couldn’t explain it either. She then transfers me to another colleague of hers who has no idea why I am calling, prompting me to go through it all again. I don't understand why I am being messed around like this. I am not trying to avoid paying my bill. Absolutely flabbergasted at how this is being dealt with!
