I ordered two dresses from Stacees — one didn’t fit well, and the other was a full size too small. Before purchasing , I explicitly asked about their return policy and was told I could return within 14 days. Based on that reassurance, I went ahead with the order.
However, when I contacted them within the 14-day window to return the dresses (which were standard sizes, not custom-made), they did everything possible to avoid issuing a refund.
First, they tried to get me to sell the dress myself or accept a free new one. When I refused, they claimed they could only refund 70% of the item cost, citing internal policies — policies that were not disclosed in their email before purchase. This is a clear violation of UK consumer law, which gives buyers the right to return online purchases for a full refund within 14 days if the items aren’t custom-made.
The dresses were £140 and £120 — not cheap. This has been a frustrating, stressful experience. I’m now having to escalate through PayPal, my bank, and Trading Standards.
I only wish I’d read the reviews here first. Please don’t make the same mistake. Avoid Stacees. They are misleading, untrustworthy, and operate outside consumer protection laws.
