It seems like Standart really listened to their last survey. The best parts of Standart are interviews with producers and perspectives on regions, getting professionals to talk about industry trends, and yes the slightly avante-garde artsy takes they have on subjects. The coffee samples are almost just a bonus. Some old issues would go too far into the trope of "millennial woman photographing herself with the subject maybe vaguely referenced". The newest issue is way more about artists expressing viewpoints on coffee. Like the photo series of coffee shop backrooms and bathrooms. That's absolutely what I want to see from Standart. The future looks bright. Part sociology, part industry mag, part art book. I love it.
