I bought the xl primarily for canning. It does the job well... My only complaint is there are not enough canning instructions and recipes. I ordered the canning book separately for $20. It literally came with 20 recipes. I was expecting something a lot more detailed like my ball canning book. I was also curious if the times with a regular pressure cooker are the same with the power cooker. No one knows the answer. For green beans the times match up but I'm not sure about anything else... Just need to provide more canning details... Other than that, it made canning my salsa much quicker!
