PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM Summer Garden Bldgs, THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE MESS! See my experience below: In April 2023, I ordered and paid for one of their large wooden gazebos, including a referral fee they charge for organizing installation. From then on it was nothing but delays, problems, and frustration. Finally a palette of materials arrived at my door in June, but no paperwork or instructions whatsoever. I was assigned an installer who they told me agreed to carry out the installation in my garden. It took the best part of two months to get the installer to actually turn up. First time we agreed on a day and time, I took a day off work, but then got a text from him the evening before that he will not make it. This then happened again, we agreed an installation date I took a days off work waiting for him and he just did not turn up at all, only texted me mid-morning on the day he won't make it!! I complained to Summer Garden Bldgs but they just said this is normal as I have ordered during a very busy time of the year. IMHO, agreeing on a date and then just not showing up at all is not OK! Finally I managed to get hold of this arranged fitter Julian Hemmings, who drove up from Northampton to York one morning only to discover that there were items and whole bag of fittings missing in my order and he cannot do the installation. Also there were going to be two of them but only he turned up saying that his sidekick could not make it. What a joke!!! Obviously I had no way of telling things were missing as there was no paperwork whatsoever in the delivered package. I requested an immediate delivery of these missing items by post to my address so he can go ahead with the installation possibly following week. This obviously did not happen and it took a further couple of weeks for the missing fittings to arrive. At this point it was late July and the prospect of using the gazebo this summer was disappearing. After the fittings arrived, I informed Julian Hemmings that I got the fittings, but he completely ignored my repeated texts and calls, this went on for several weeks with me complaining again at Summer Garden Bldgs about him. They fobbed me off, promising to chase the fitter and let me know. This never happened. I called Summer Garden Bldgs every few days, but I just got absolutely nowhere. No fitter, no apology, nothing. It was September when I just gave up and contacted a local York-based builder company, who built the gazebo profesionally and quickly in October! I finally managed to extract a £39 referral fee refund from Summer Garden Bldgs, but that is no consolation. This whole operation took nearly 6 months! To sum up, the experience with Summer Garden Bldgs and their fitter has been horrendous. PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, THEY ARE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
