i have been trying all different hiking socks in preparation for my 50+ mile through hike in Peru. I tested Darn Tough, CEP, SmartWool and Swiftwick. I found the Swiftwick Flight XT Trail 5 to have the best balance of breathability, cushioning and overall comfort. There is no movement in the boot and my feet stayed dry and comfortable. Although not neccessarily "compression" socks, I felt these gave added support over the Darn Tough and Smartwool. I liked them so much, I just bought 4 more pair for the hike.
