Last year they said I couldn't make any savings because they were comparing my heavily discounted tariff with other tariffs on the market that didn't have the same great discount. The electricity company I switched to last year, and offered me a greater discount than those I found in switcher.ie was not included in the results! This year, it seems they realised their mistake and apparently I can make savings, but it's only because they are comparing my existing tariff without the heavy discount, as it will be once my year contract ends, against other companies offering discounted tariffs. The problem is they show tariffs already discounted, instead of being fully transparent and showing the real tariff **before** the discount, to help consumers clearly see which companies are charging more for their units before any discount. Not great at all. I have to trail through every energy company to see their real tariffs and then make a decision!
