The venue was not clean. Fortunately we anticipated this and employed 2 people to clean for 2 hours on the date of the event. I only accepted the venue on the proimise that the flood damage to both the floor and the ceiling would be fixed before the date of the funeral reception. The ceiling had been repaired and painted, however the floor was even worse than the day I had seen it. On that day as mentioned, it was agreed the floor would be done before the time of my booking and was not. Breach of oral contract and had I had more time I might pursue legal action. As mention I only agreed to rent this space on those terms. My terms were not met. Secondly I was promised access through the gate which was later revoked. I had my sister visit and write several emails regarding this. She was gas lit and told that no such arrangement had been made. Furthermore I have still yet to get my deposit back. The funeral was successful despite the venue and not because of it, The faint odour of mould was there the whole time and we used air fresheners and plug-ins to mak the smell. I would have cancelled and rebooked if I'd had more time.
