I have been a TakePayments customer for over 2 years, but my recent experience with their API service has been extremely disappointing.
I was sold the API after being pressured to sign quickly on the same day, with promises that it included Apple Pay, Klarna, Google Pay and more — all built in. In reality, none of these payment options are included by default; you have to register for each one separately.
To make matters worse, it took them 3 weeks to even send the API over, during which time we received zero support in finalising the integration. The platform itself feels outdated, with very limited features and options compared to other providers.
When I called to cancel the API due to these issues, I was told I had signed a contract and couldn’t cancel, despite being a long-term client.
Overall, I feel misled and let down. The lack of transparency, poor support, and outdated technology mean I cannot recommend TakePayments to anyone.
