warning to all customers
On 11 August, I placed an order (Order ID: 3092069510) with Talabat which arrived late at night around 11:00 PM. The delivery driver claimed he had no change for my payment of 500 AED. He was supposed to take 60 AED and return 440 AED. Instead, he took the money and ran away, never coming back. I have CCTV footage showing him taking the money and leaving.
Since that night, I have contacted Talabat repeatedly—via chat, phone calls, and even requesting to speak to a manager. Every single time, I get the same empty promises: “We will escalate this and get back to you in 24 hours.” It’s now been days, and nothing has been resolved. The so-called “manager” promised to call within 60 minutes yesterday—never happened.
When I asked for the driver’s ID so I could report this theft to the Dubai Police, Talabat refused to provide it. This makes me question whether they are hiring outsourced or even illegal workers without proper visas, which is why they can’t (or won’t) locate him.
I am a PRO member paying a monthly subscription fee, and a regular loyal customer. This is how they treat their paying members—by protecting a thief instead of protecting their customers.
Talabat, you have lost my trust forever. If you cannot guarantee the honesty of your drivers, the safety of your customers’ money, or even the basic courtesy of following up on a theft complaint, you should not be in business.
