30 Days Without Proper Internet – No Accountability
We lost all internet access completely, followed by a degraded connection running at around 4 Mbps download and 0.2 Mbps upload — totally unfit for business use.
Despite testing at the master socket with no internal issues, TalkTalk immediately implied the fault was ours and said we could be charged £166 for an engineer visit. We are using their router, their standard setup, and nothing has been tampered with. The fault clearly lies on the external Openreach line — possibly weather-dependent.
It has now been over 30 days. We are stuck in a loop of generic, copy-paste emails every 48 hours. No real investigation, no escalation, and no resolution. We’ve had to buy a SIM card router just to keep our business running.
We’ve asked for clarity, for escalation, and for basic fairness — but all correspondence is via offshore call centres who are unable to act.
Avoid TalkTalk Business at all costs. No urgency, no ownership, and zero regard for small businesses relying on a stable connection.
