I've had my Tapzo card for about four months now, and for the most part, it's been rather brilliant. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone in the professional world who's looking to reduce their reliance on disposable items.
However, there are a few things I've learned that I think are worth sharing before you decide to order one.
If you're thinking about getting a Tapzo card, I strongly suggest having a QR code printed on it as a backup option. They offer this service for free, and at the time of my order, I didn't pay much attention to it. But now, I realize how crucial it is, and I'm grateful I went for this option.
The reason is that sometimes the card struggles to be read by Android phones. Having a QR code as a backup is a lifesaver because it allows you to simply scan the code in case the tapping doesn't work. This issue is more related to Android or the way someone taps the card, and not really a fault of Tapzo. Most Androids have their NFC reader in the same spot as iPhones, but there are some exceptions.
It's these phones that can put you in an awkward situation when you're trying to tap the card and nothing happens. It can take a moment to realize you're tapping the wrong spot on the person's phone. The solution is pretty straightforward – just tap in the right place on the phone.
However, for some reason, when the initial tapping attempt doesn't work, your first thought isn't usually, "Let me try tapping somewhere else on the phone." Instead, there's a moment of panic. This panic can lead you to keep tapping in the same spot and getting the same disappointing result, which can be quite awkward. (Maybe it's just me, but I believe having a QR code as an option is essential to prevent this from happening.)
I was torn between giving a 4 or 5-star review for this reason. In the end, I opted for a full 5 stars because this issue isn't really Tapzo's fault. I decided to offer this feedback to help others be aware of the potential situation and not as a reflection on the quality of the product itself.
