The AA call handler refused to send a breakdown vehicle because I didn't have proof that I owned the vehicle immediately to hand. I offered to send a screenshot of the monthly payment that I have unfailingly sent to AA Insurance on the first banking day for the last fourteen months. This was refused. I explained that I have Type 2 diabetes and was starting to feel very light headed. The call handler said that I should go to the nearest shop and buy something to eat. I explained that it would be dangerous for me to do so as the area is unsafe after usual shopping hours. Consequently, I had to hire a taxi to get me home at a cost of £14 which I can ill afford.
I consider the level of service to have been entirely unsatisfactory given the circumstances noted above.
