Today, I called to enquire about recovering my vehicle and spoke with Sally in the breakdown department. Unfortunately, she came across as entitled and rude, making the conversation more about her rather than focusing on my needs as a customer. Sally informed me that the AA could not attend because my vehicle has no MOT. I asked her where this policy is stated and where I could find this information. Instead of providing assistance, she had the audacity to say, "I feel that you're calling me a liar." Firstly, I do not know her well enough to make any such allegations. Secondly, I believe I should be able to ask for information without being met with defensiveness. Lastly, it feels inappropriate for her to make this situation personal. Since we are considering feelings, I would like to express that I feel nobody seems to care about the frustrations she might be experiencing as a staff member interacting with customers. It is important for employees to keep their personal frustrations separate from their roles. I believe if she is easily triggered by customer enquiries, she may not be suited for this position. Customers should not have to deal with individuals who bring their personal problems to work. All of the above are my feelings, much like hers regarding our interaction. I encourage you to train your staff to provide courteous service. Just as you expect civility from your customers, I believe the same standard should apply to your employees.

It was a horrible experience. We booked a trip from IND-MNL and were told that we would need to get between airports on our own. The AA agent informed us we would get a refund because we booked within 24 hours. That's not true, so buyers should beware.

I don't know where to start with this company. I'm a female in my late 30s and after my Dad made me join The AA for winter months I decided to go for it. I have a BMW 1 series 2014. It has never broken down and I have never had any issues with it apart from a few break pads and tyre changes. Last month when we had the first batch of cold weather and temp drop my car made a banging noise on start up. I got a bunch of lights on the dashboard including the engine sign. My car then filled with smoke (as well as the exhaust was smoking). I was too scare to drive to work so I called the AA immediately. An engineer came out and said theres an issue with the engine turbo but I should take it to a garage asap and not drive it. When I took it to a garage I was told the head gasket blew and I cant drive it. I left my car and called the AA daily to check on updates. I have never claimed before nor have I ever had this happen to me in any car I've owned. I was told the engineer needs to come out to assess the damage. It took 2,5 weeks for an engineer to attend and another 6 days for the report to be submitted. In the meantime I had to pay for the garage to get the car back, I paid out over £1200 to get a new head gasket, oil cooler, pipes and several other things that had failed that morning stopping me from driving the car. The noise was unbearable. I finally got the call from AA today - I spoke to Ryan from Parts & Garage Claims who said the engineer report stated the issue was there before with the car and nothing is covered! He also continued to accuse me that its an ongoing issue and happened way before I had taken out the policy. I was then passed on to Nick - the Manager who carried on accusing me but added in that more accusations such as the Policy was 3 days old when I claimed, accusing me of insurance fraud. I was visibly upset, had a panic attack and it has affected my health in a serious way. I proceeded to say that I have lost out on £1000s of loss of income due to not being able to get to work for 2 weeks without a car, as well as having the policy for a month before it happened. Nick then proceeded to accuse me after I stated that the engineers report didnt say anything about other failed elements in the car. The said engineer didn't bother to check anything besides the head gasket, however there were 5 other things that failed and I had to pay for. This was ignored by Ryan in CS and Nick the Manager. I am truly appalled and shocked how I have been treated and will be filing legal action to get justice. I am appalled how any human can stoop to that level and accuse a customer for wanting to lose their own income deliberately and on top of that to pay out thousands for repair. In total this issue has cost me £2400 and AA has accused me of doing this on purpose. All calls are recorded that I intend to use in court and I also have luckily kept all MOT receipts and service receipts where its evident the car was in perfect condition until the incident I reported. AA has taken someone's misery and turned it into reasons not to pay on top of accusing their customers. Anyone who is thinking of joining AA - DONT DO IT! Especially if you want to add on Parts & Garage cover that my dad recommended to me in good faith being a single girl living alone. I deeply regret this decision and now have a long legal battle ahead of me. STAY AWAY!!

Appalling Service! I have been a fully paid up member since 1999. It took almost three hours for a mechanic to arrive. When he did he was unsociable and without even getting out of his van told me that my vehicle was no longer covered due to a change in the company policy. I couldn't believe it and subsequently made a phone call to complain cancelling my membership I was told this couldn't be done as the computers had crashed I was to phone back !! Not impressed is putting it mildly.

I had a terrible experience with AA last week. They were supposed to send recovery to my home address and gave me a quoted arrival time, but they kept delaying it. After several hours of waiting, I received a call informing me that they needed proof the car had been diagnosed at a garage prior to the issue. I was shocked – after waiting all that time and missing work, they canceled the recovery. This company has been nothing but frustrating, and I regret choosing them. I will not be dealing with them again

Our car broke down in the basement car park in Asda, Rugby, last Friday 29th November 2024! AA we're called at 12.06pm. The signal was non existent so we had to go up to ground floor level. You cannot speak to anyone...press this press that, then you have to get the ap!!!! I could not access the ap so my husband had to do it! Good job he was with me!!!!! So it took a further 15/20 minutes to get through and onto the ap.... Initially we were messaged that a mechanic would be with us 13.10, we then had messages every 1/2 hour or so to say there was a delay, delay, delay !!!! Eventually a mechanic turned up at 16.40 YES! you read it correctly FOUR AND A QUARTER HOURS LATER !!!!!😡😡😡. There was no 1/2" of snow, no howling wind, no 10' floods, no earthquake...nothing! My frozen food had defrosted..so fish, prawns, burgers had to be chucked...totalling £22 ! The mechanic said the time we had to wait was not on!! and... did you know? you can have A CAR HIRE FOR 72 HOURS!!!! WE WERE NEVER ADVISED OF THIS, SURPRISE SURPRISE, THERE IS NO MENTION IN THE ONLINE CONTRACT !!!!!!!!. This was not a "BAD" experience! It was ATROCIOUS !!!!! APPALLING !!!!! DISGUSTING !!!!! Firstly, I EXPECT a phone call from this company with an explanation!!! Then compensation will be discussed!!!!! I WAS AND STILL AM FURIOUS 😡😡 So get in touch !!!!

What went wrong with the AA breakdown service? Well the only thing that went right was they came out quickly. After that things went quickly downhill! The breakdown guy did not understand a simple fault code. I spoke to 4 different AA advisors for the report on the fault & they all said different things. I kept having to read my policy terms to them. Overall it would have saved me a lot of time and hassle if I sorted the recovery & issue myself in the first place as I had to anyway!!

The AA Customer Solutions is refusing to engage with me in any way. This appears to be their way of avoiding reality. I am having to resolve my life threatening complaint through legal channels. Shameful behaviour, in my opinion.

Received a phone call about my renewal to be told they were wanting 1200 euro to renew insurance which is double what i paid last year. No penalty points, no accidents etc only thing was it was meant to be business class insurance. Was told that they checked 14 other insurance companies for me and this was cheapest quote. Rang a company myself and got a quote for 650 euro. The only thing I can think of is that I was blatantly lied to by your sales team. I have received a further 5 phone calls from AA asking me to renew with them and I can honestly say I will never be using the company again. Over 10 years on a full licence no accidents and trying to charge me double. Should be ashamed of yourselves.

On behalf of my partner. He has just finished a shift at a hospital and contacted the AA (with whom he has breakdown cover with) at 11pm tonight. He was told it would be an hour maximum. It is now 1.30am and he is still waiting in minus degree weather! Every time they are changing their ETA as soon as it reaches the time they state. This is the second time this has occurred in the space of 2 weeks... him waiting hours for service. Ridiculous.

Took out an AA policy costing £261.58 as a new customer via the Quidco Cashback platform which should have paid £149.50 Cashback as advertised (and still listed on the site). I've used Quidco for years and seldom have an issue however I was extremely disappointed to see my tracked cashback recently declined (despite following their T&C's to the letter and following the usual Quidco protocols/clear cookies etc.). I also submitted an appeal to Quidco which was also declined without explanation. Given the cashback was the only reason this policy was cheaper than their big name competitors it's has left a very sour taste with me as I feel I've been mis-sold an expensive policy and left out of pocket without explanation. I'll be switching to RAC or Green Flag next year and not returning or recommending AA! ***Update - I have since read a few money saving forums and the like and it's apparently commonplace for AA to decline insurance cashback despite advertising on these platforms. If the cashback/affiliate sites weren't such a grey area with little or no option to approve ot disapprove claims, I'd be inclined to report them to Advertising Standards. FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED! ***Update 2: Contacted AA as per their request and supplied them with all the information I had from Quidco. Basically just got a default answer about clearing cookies. Spoke to my friend who works in affiliate marketing who agreed this is a load of nonsense as if it tracked 1st time the decline has nothing to do with cookie tracking. And more than likely someone at AA can't be arsed doing their job properly so just clicked decline on a raft of affiliate commission requests. Advised AA I won't be renewing to which they didn't seem phased. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Also as a side note one of their drivers blocked my driveway for an hour while fixing a broken down taxi last month without any request for permission or apology. I wasn't going anywhere but I'll add that to the mix.

What a disgusting bunch of cop outs. I had an accident on the motorway last Monday. A lorry hit me and I phoned the AA. They did not offer me any help at all. The Accident Assist Service is a joke. The fact is the person on the other side of the phone can make a decision without knowing the full facts. Apparently I was at fault so they can cop out any assistance. As a result they can then charge extortionate call out charges. Absolutely appalling service for such a large company. Been left out of pocket for nearly 600 pounds and refuse to reimburse my costs. Do not use the AA. Full stop
