I came into The Author Incubator wanting to write a book about suicide because I had so many clients last year tell me that the work they did through my program saved their lives and allowed them to let go of suicidal ideation. The problem I knew, and that Angela quickly and gently told me, is that depressed people don't want to read a book about suicide. That was not the book that would help my people. Working with Angela on how to share tools that I knew were saving people's lives, but in a way they wanted to receive completely changed the way I saw my business. The structured, step-by-step process of The Author Incubator forced me to come out of my ego - the safe place of the way I wanted to describe my clients' problems from the mountaintop fortress of having solved it for myself - and into their real-life experience of their problem. Meeting my clients where they are, both in my book and in my business, helped me see myself as a leader and how important it was to accept that role. I left the law firm I was working for, and I have already made more money in my second month out than I would have, had I stayed at the firm. This is a truly transformational, but structured and reliable, process.
