I've written and published two full novels that use a fictional narrative to tell about my own personal journey from the ghetto in Chicago through the struggle to outrun the destructive self-belief that I would always be no good, and a burden. I've got almost half of a third novel finished that is entirely different and talks about how I found a way to give back to people, and how I could become a service. I have been disappointed that although my first books are good, (I know they are, but those that have read it also say so), they are not very popular. This last book is meant to be uplifting, and details how a small town physician could make a difference not because he was special, but because he tried. Every thing that I've listened to so far tonight tells me that you folks may be the people to show me the way.
