I opted for the cool steel toes for work due to south Texas winter weather typically being not that bad for very long but warm weather being brutal. I have worn them several times this winter and they are good for cooler weather with a decent pair of socks. The insoles are supremely comfortable. (Better than my $225 redwings with $40 insoles added. The Vibram sole was another big plus in helping me choose these to add a little extra toughness for worksites and help them last a little longer.
