(1) Generally, the content is more than sufficient for the purpose of preparing for the Texas real estate state exam. However, the PDF-based content is impossible to copy and paste into my study notes and, thus, requires me to retype it for later review. This is infinitely harder than quickly copying and pasting text-based content, highlighting key points, and adding outline bookmarks for important sections and concepts in my notes. For example, there was one PDF about the Truth In Lending Act that took me 45 minutes to retype and organize the content. I think there must be many like me using the "copy/paste/markup/bookmark" method for note taking. Using this method reduces my review time when preparing for the course exam, as I can search for terms within my notes, or click on an outline bookmark to zero in on a particular section. I would like to see the PDF and other graphic-based material incorporated as supplemental only, and have the text that is within the graphics duplicated in text format ripe for copy/paste (without the pictures of course). If you think about it, you already do this with a number of the video lessons where you provide the video transcript in the text format. (2) For the same reasons as I indicated in point "1" above, I would like to see much less of the real world banter between the fictional characters, such as Keira, Phillip, etc. This requires editing the quoted banter into meaningful, concise, notes for later review and wastes valuable study time. (3) I believe that six months is not ample time to get through all six required courses for the Texas real estate license exam for someone working a full time job (plus a lot of overtime). There simply isn't enough time after work and family time to study and learn one course per month. Please consider giving your students at least 9 months to complete the six courses. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (4) This is my list of things that are not big problems, just mildly irritating. (A) There are times when, after scoring 100% on a unit exam, I want to retake the exam because I may still be unsure if I have really grasped the content. Currently, if you don't score 100%, you are provided with a "Retake This Exam" button, which is great. I would like to see the same "Retake This Exam" button even when I score 100%, instead of being required to go to the main course outline screen and manually choosing to retake the exam. (B) If you click on a resource that initiates a new browser window you are presented with a prompt requiring you to enter something to prove you are who you say you are, such as your email address, phone number, or zip code. Not a big deal, but still a bit annoying. (C) When I have clicked on a resource and am studying that content, I am logged out of the main session window after about 5 minutes. I understand there is a timeout requirement mandated by TREC, but I was hoping it could be set for a bit longer, perhaps 15 minutes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Again, the CE Shop curriculum is good, but could use some refinement to make it even better for us full time working stiffs trying to transition into the world of real estate sales and management. Sincerely and with the best of intentions, Jim Cox
