We dined at No. 1 William street. Had the three course selection menu. Terrible terrible terrible. The first course duck watermelon salad was nothing more than packaged salad greens with tiny shreds of duck and pieces of watermen small than 1/2 cm cubes. Dressing so salty we had to send all three servings back as they were inedible. The main was kofta, humous and cabbage. The kofta looked and tasted like two loosely formed rissoles. Not enjoyable but at least edible. By the time for desert I had turned to wine.. My friends said dessert was good but I think they were only trying to make me feel better. Service lacking had to ask for wine menu had to ask to order wine had to ask where our wine was. Had to ask for bill all whilst being called darling or dear. The restaurant only had two other tables occupied. I had prebooked and was embarressed to have invited my friends. The one star is for the view. Don't go here for food or service. A real shame. Price after Gallery membership discount was $100 a head (and we were told we weren't charged for the food we sent back. We had 4 glasses of wine between the three of us. $100 for rissoles a coconut sorbet and a glass of wine.....There are plenty of good places to eat in Sydney. Try elsewhere.
