I am sorry I had to rate as poor as it is my personal taste. The pastry was not too thick and as you described there was plenty of filling. Unfortunately, it was just too peppery for me, most meat pies are. It's as if some of the salt has been taken out and replaced by more pepper.
I can't find a pasty, sausage roll or pork pie that I can eat now.
