I hired someone through another site. He asked me to put a review on Thumbtack. Apparently this is legitimately done. This handyman/gardener seemed communicative and reliable at first so I gave him a glowing review. Once he had my money, he stopped coming and had an array of excuses until he finally admitted he subcontracted others and wouldn't be performing the work I'd paid for. I tried to take down my review but Thumbtack said that, even though I provided proof, because I didn't hire him through them, I could not remove or edit the review. So, on Thumbtack I have a 5 star review for a literal thief. Do not trust any reviews you see on Thumbtack.
