I received a sample of the Tippsy Sake subscription box and it arrived quickly.I spent my weekend with it while on vacation in Corpus Christi, TX and I can honestly say that I was surprised with how accurate the description of the sake was. With each box (I assume) you get a card detailing the sake; what it is, the type of flavors to expect, and a bit of history behind the blend of sake. I received three different types from the sample: Rich 80%, Aged, and Aqua all of them were of the Jozen brand. Each blend promised a distinct taste, for example Aged: fruit based, Aqua: brown sugar, Rich 80%: caramelized nuts. Surprisingly, my favorite ended up being Rich 80% and the reason why I say it's surprising is due to the fact that I usually dislike darker blends of alcohol, but the Rich 80% was very smooth and had a good taste to it. My family who let try all three flavors thought the Rich was a little too strong for them, and they have a much higher alcohol tolerance than myself so it was a bit odd to experience. Tippsy Sake wants people new to the world of sake, regardless of alcohol experience to be open minded to the beverage and their subscription service is a good start to get them in at $49-$59 a month. If you're a fan of alcohol and like to try new things, definitely give Tippsy Sake a go.
