I live in Brisbane but have a friend who lives just out of Tumut and visit a couple of times each year. A "must stop" is always Tom's Outdoors. They have a great range of camping, backpacking, paddling, fly fishing and outdoor apparel - no junk, just the best gear. And the folks who work in the store are all passionate users - real outdoors people who use the gear and know what works. And helpful and friendly every time.
