I have concerns about procedures that are provided for the 5/8 lug nuts for the 96 f350 dually conversion adapters. When I received the new lug nut it was very obviously oiled on the threads and between the washer and nut. The oil was strategically placed by the manufacturer, not coincidentally or accidentally there. The instructions do not indicate I should remove that oil prior to installation, but the instructions also don't state that lug nuts need to be oiled when they are removed and reinstalled. The clamp load will be significantly different between an oiled and dry lugnut. Both oiled and dry cannot be correct for installing the lug nuts. Please find out which procedure is correct and let me know. If these nuts are supposed to be oiled, it is only a matter of tine before a wheel comes off and someone is seriously injured or worse.
