I had some minor damage on a new truck that would require sanding and re-painting to repair. Although I had never done this type of repair before, it seem simple enough. That was my first mistake. I received the primer, color coat and clear coat from TouchUPDirect and went to work. I had watched one YouTube video which confirmed my belief it would be a simple process. I sanded, did some minor fill, sanded again and applied 4 coats of color coat and 3 coats of clear coat. It came out looking dull and felt like sand paper. I was thinking I had really screwed this up and my next step would be to hang my head at the Local body shop and pay a couple thousand dollars for them to fix it right. Out of desperation I sent an email to TouchUPDirect customer service asking for help. Within a day I received a reply from James asking for a little more information. We exchange several emails where he talked me through some remedial work that allowed me to start over by paying attention to some methods that I had overlooked on the first go. He also sent me several links to DYI videos that explained the process in exacting detail. With his help I was able to repair my first attempt and complete the repair successfully.
