Rear struts on xc40 finally gave in on Friday afternoon, (known fault apparently).
Last September, main dealer offered to sort out noisy struts for Β£1100 π€π€.
Quick google, guy on YouTube, fitting seemed ok, (if you're not Bob Phgleming, showing my age here).
Trade vehicle parts had some available for delivery Tuesday, for Β£185, no brainer really, I'm off with my caravan Wednesday, so should work out fine.
Evri tracker said delivery between 11.30-13.30, came while I was having my dinner,(lunch if you're posh), about 12.20.
So jobs a good one on that scoreπ
Came well packed, in that blown up plastic stuff, and sturdy boxesπ
Swapped the right one first, then tried it out, noise was gone, but didn't quite sit right when closed, or lift to full height π€·
So fitted the other side, now it's spot on, that'll teach me not to be a lazy gitππ
To be fair the original left one looked a little leaky tooπ€
Look the same as original struts, seal round the wire into the tailgate slightly different, but does same job. Only other visible difference, is the retainer clips can be slid in and out from the end, it's actually better this way in my opinion so that's good.
So yes definitely 5 stars from me, delivery as promised, parts fit perfectly, and work well, don't see how it could be better really. So thanks guys, you saved my week away in the caravan, and the saving over Volvo prices, will pay for it too, and probably half of summers month in Cornwall and Devon too π°π°ππππ
