Travelodge venues vary quite a lot. Some are well-kept and well-run by friendly and helpful staff.
Others are quite scruffy, not very clean and problematic.
Rooms have faults that should be picked up by housekeeping staff, but aren’t or are ignored, maybe because some housekeeping staff are not very interested.
Most frequent issues are worktops that have not been wiped over and have cup rings and food remnants left from the previous occupant - yuk!!!
Also empty soap dispensers and occasionally dirty unchanged sheets.
These are issues that I have personal experiences of unfortunately.
Travelodge is convenient, mostly not too expensive and there are certain things that you know will be familiar no matter which venue you visit, so you know what to expect.
One thing that I have found lately is the problem of heating in the rooms.
Some rooms have no heating until you arrive and turn it on so the room is very cold and you have to wait quite a while for the room to warm up before you can take a shower. Not good.
In others, the heating only works while you are moving around the room and if you are still for a little while you end up shivering while watching tv or just writing a letter.
You have to jump up and down in front of the sensor to get some heat.
Very difficult in the colder months.
On a more positive note when the rooms are serviced properly and the staff are relaxed and welcoming, Travelodge is a great place to stay with a big choice of venues all over the country and it’s still my favourite place to stay!!
