The Travelodge was fine; it seemed to have been newly painted and the bathroom had been refurbished. The only reason I have marked it as 4 - starred, is that, along with all Travelodges nowadays, the lighting is so low that one cannot read or write papers. How are business travellers able to prepare for meetings or write up notes afterwards? I feel you must lose many people travelling for work over this issue. This particular Travelodge had no lighting above the desk, which was in front of a window. That was fine during daylight hours, but an annoyance in the evening. The staff were helpful, as always, and the beds were comfortable. We would stay again.
