Battersea Park Road Travelodge is in a dusty, rundown part of London although you can turn the corner and go for a walk by the Thames River. The reception area is supplemented by dishevelled planters with an impoverished array of small plants. Once inside, the area is shabby with cracked faux leather seating and vending machines. The female reception staff cannot show kindness or hospitality. My room was ok and quiet. I needed the quietness. Only one power point worked for the kettle and fan. The tea bag was horrible. The chair had holes in it. The TV worked. The shower leaked onto the floor, and there was no bath rug so I used a towel. There was no soap in the shower dispenser so I also had to lean out to the sink dispenser each time, which might have resulted in me slipping. The finish in the bathroom was not good. The bed was comfortable. Overall, a very depressing experience. I would not go to Travelodge again and the cost, compared with the superior Premier Inn, was not reasonable.
