The bed I tried to sleep in was really uncomfortable. I raised this with Travelodge, who replied that all beds had been tested and installed in 2015. They did not directly answer whether the mattress had been changed in the 3 years between then and my stay in 2018. They did, however, say that my discomfort must have been 'personal preference'. A breakfast worth £8.50 was offered for 'next time you stay'. There is unlikely to be a next time, since I actually like to get some rest at the place I'm paying for. I'd rather pay a little more extra elsewhere and have some sleep.
