NOTICE to travelers: I would never have discovered the contradicting amounts for my flight ticket had I not needed to cancel my ticket. In August I went to the Southwest airlines bookmarked webpage to book a flight and when I decided to call the number provided to book by phone I was transferred to the Travelopod agency. I was informed upon questioning that they were one of the agencies that Southwest used for their bookings now. I purchased a flight for $549 that I could cancel without a charge, and use within 2 years of cancelation. I called SW in Oct to cancel. There was no record of my ticket purchase. And Travelopod was not one of their contracted booking agents. Called Travelopod. They had changed my confirmation code. Called SW back- they found my ticket, canceled it and told me the cost of the ticket for $216.97 would be available for 1 year from cancelation. After many hours and many phone calls, neither company has taken responsibility for the high jacked price and false claims. I am compiling a detailed letter of all the calls, responses, and will be filing it along with documentation to all companies involved and agencies that protect consumers from fraud and abuse.
