I submitted a reference for a hotel-booking service online. The reference was online for a few days, until it was taken down based on a "complicance" complaint. I was told to send in an invoice from the company that would serve as a proof that I was a legit customer.
Not only did the original receipt I got from the company get declined multiple times, but also does trustpilot *not* require this if you want to leave a false-positive review.
Trustpilot may thus be considered a scam.
