Oh my!!! I wish I had read reviews before attempting to rent again via Turo. My experiences are spot on with so many other complaints here. The first time I tried to use Turo, I was rented a car that wasn’t even available. Allegedly the host had asked to have the car pulled from the platform but Turo had failed to do so. I showed up to pick up a vehicle and was met with confusion and blank stares. Ok fine, stuff happens right? Fast forward several years and I attempted to use Turo again. This time car was available, pick up went great, car was 12 years old but pretty much as described. I had the car for 22 days and only used it for travel to and from work, maybe a stop along that route to the grocery store or something… Returned the car on time, the next day the host alleges I wrecked their car! Excuse me!? I barely drove the vehicle and most certainly would have reported any damage if I caused any. Of course Turo sided with the host even though there are pictures on the profile that I can see detailing all of the dings, dents, and other 12 year wear and tear on the vehicle. I have recorded and taken screen grabs that show the date/time the host uploaded those photos detailing the damages already on the car for my attorney because I’d rather pay an atty to fight for me than scammers any day. I’m a travel nurse and have rented hundreds of cars over the decades with the major corporations. I called myself helping small business since the economy is so bad and regular people are struggling. Never, ever, again.
