Turo is scamming both the Turo guests and hosts, go check for yourself.
The host pays between 25% to 35% on fees + sales tax depending on the cover in the event of accident.
And the guest pays a protection fee + sales tax + trip fee.
The discounts is applied is taken from the host earnings.
So here is an example.
As guest:
1 day car hire at £38
Trip fee £16.98 (may very)
Sales tax £5.40
Minimum protection plan £10

Now the host receives the following:
Car at £38
Turo fees £9.08
Sales tax £1.80
Host earned £25
Turo charged £70 guest for £25 profit to the host per 1 day.
It gets worse with discounts and early
