I've been using Turo for a few years and have made several trips with their cars. Years ago, it was definitely a cheaper alternative to traditional car rental companies but it's no longer the case. As a matter of fact, I now find it worse. You're at the mercy of the car owners who will ding you for every tiny detail (much like traditional companies) except that this company will never give the benefit of the doubt to the customer AND, worse, your credit card won't cover any damage done to one of these cars like they will with a traditional rental agency.
I had an awful experience recently where I incurred MINOR damage to a car's bumper and was charged $2500 to replace the whole thing. I total ripoff.... beware!
