Renting from Turo is a really dangerous business!
I’ve only had three rentals with Turo, and the first one was great. However, the second one was a complete disaster. The car was in awful condition, with the AC not working properly and a strong, unpleasant smell. Even the gas lead was missing!
When I returned the car, I had to wait because the host wasn’t there to open the gate to the gated community. As a result, I was 23 minutes late. The host just told me to leave the car there, and I did.
Three days later, I gave a review of the car, stating that it was in poor condition. When I contacted Turo to dispute the charges, they told me that there was nothing they could do because I was only 23 minutes late. I said that the host was at fault for not being there to open the gate, and that there was nothing Turo could do to protect me.
I’ve decided not to rent from Turo again because it seems like they don’t care about their customers. The host can charge you whatever they want, and there’s nothing Turo can do to protect you.
