Twiends is a good way to get twitter followers (especially at the start of a new twitter account.) People don't usually follow something with no followers! Some of the followers stick around and others don't, which isn't Twiends fault. Some followers appear to be sock accounts and have 0 followers themselves. I'm not sure how that works as surely the objective is to get people to follow them? Anyway, overall I recommend Twiends if you're trying to grow your account, I don't see another way of doing it, unless you have a LOT of free time to talk to people, or you're willing to follow them first!
