I'm a 28yo female and I work out. I'm not one of those annoying little girls who go to the gym to strike poses in cute gym outfits while taking selfies and doing nothing else. That being said, Under Armour sports leggings are made for these girls and no one else. I bust my ass 3 hours a day, 5 days a week at the gym and I'm in phenomenal shape. I need clothes that support these intensive workouts. Under Armour makes great sports tops so I thought I would try their leggings (I previously only purchased Victoria's Secret leggings until the scandal came out concerning how they treat women). Victoria's Secret leggings last forever. I had a pair that lasted 8 years with no pilling. They are resilient, light weight, and you can move around in them. And typically retail for $50-$65 a pair which is pretty cheap. I purchased 6 pairs of Under Armour leggings. Each retailed for about $80 a pair. These leggings are so poorly made I hardly know where to start with the issues. The first pair lasted approximately two weeks. I sat on a straw dining chair and a piece of straw which wasn't even sharp burst through the paper thin fabric. Never happened with VS leggings. And it was a fabric hole the diameter of a pen cap in the butt cheek immediately rendering these leggings unwearable. I was so annoyed. In under a year, the other 5 pairs of leggings ($80 a pair!) have sh*t the bed for issues I never encountered with VS leggings. As with VS, the size and fit were perfect. It simply comes down Under Armour only making leggings for women who want to LOOK good at the gym and don't want to work out. You can't move in these leggings without risking a tear. - Squats? That's how another pair died. I was drenched in sweat in a boot camp class and mid squat, I heard a tear - right in the seam in the butt cheek. NEVER happened with VS. If my butt were actually that big, I'd brag about it. But it's not. I was wearing poorly made sports leggings. - Splits? Crotch tear. Goodbye pair #3. - Brushing up against a door? The hinges snagged the paper thin fabric and tore a hole in the side. It's been a year and I have no longer have leggings to wear at the gym despite the substantial financial investment I made in this purchase. My last pair which held out the longest became so worn down from use that holes were showing up in the crotch, in the seams, they were falling apart. I finally tossed them today. Bringing me to sports bras. I still have and use sports bras I purchased from VS over 10 years ago. That's how well the quality holds up. I'm a big fan of the front zipper sports bras. VS and Under Armour retail roughly the same price for a sports bra. And within a year, the zipper teeth on the Under Armour sports bra I purchased broke. My size has not changed either. I want to support to women. I really do. But I'm going back to VS until a sports retailer can come up with a fashionable line of athletic wear for women who go to the gym to sweat. Under Armour and VS make identical leggings in regards to creating fashionable, form fitting, flattering leggings made with light weight fabric. But VS supports endurance, they're durable. Simply put, VS leggings are better made not to mention they're cheaper. Given my love of Under Armour tops, this was a major disappointment. For all you ladies who go to the gym to sweat and who enjoy looking good while doing it - these leggings are NOT for you.
