The returns policy for USC is (seemingly deliberately) extremely inconvenient for the customer. I did a click and collect order for USC goods at a Sports Direct store. Two of the four items I ordered did not fit and I returned to the nearby Sports Direct the next day in the off chance I would be able to return the goods in store. To my surprise the girl seemed happy to process the return until she got to the dreaded word you hear in Sports Direct more than anywhere else on earth 'credit note only'. When I stated I wanted a refund it now became seemingly impossible for Sports Direct to handle these returned items 'we don't really have much to do with the internet business'. Yeah..... except it was fine a second ago when you were more than happy to give me a credit note. I was also told that I cannot even return the goods to a USC store for a refund. I have to post these items back myself at my own cost. One of the main reasons for ordering through the website of a high street store is the ability to click and collect and return items to the store if they don't fit. Sport Directs policy on 'no refunds' (along with the convenient lack of mirrors and changing rooms in there stores) is clearly designed to get a hold of a customers money and never ever give any of it back. It is also the main reason I would absolutely shop anywhere else other than Sports Direct if it can be avoided. The long and the short of it is that whilst these policies are still in place I will no longer consider ordering from USC, Sports Direct, Cruise or any other companies within this group. Socks and sweatbands is probably the biggest risk I would take from Sports Direct. It is absolutely astonishing in this day and age that someone thinks these policies are a good idea long term for a business. Oh - and I feel embarrassed for the Sports Direct staff who have to explain these policies to customers when they quite clearly do not agree with them themselves. On the odd occasion I find myself in Sports Direct there is almost always a disgruntled customer trying to understand why they cant have their money back.
