Initially I was using Kodi on an android tv box as an audio streamer and to play local files.
Now switched to a Rpi which I still had laying around and installed Volumio on it.
I use the USB port of the Rpi to connect to an asynchronous DAC, this works great (no noise, jitter because of the asynchronous DAC).
I am pleased with the simplicity and easy of use of Volumio.
Volumio app is easy to use, has a nice layout and local files are very easy to browse through.
