I recently began looking for a new barbell, since I bent mine pulling heavy. I assumed I would just go with Rogue, Pendlay, etc., but I wanted to do my research and make the best decision. I made a spreadsheet with Sleeve Design, Tensile Strength and similar headings so I could make the best possible decision. I wanted the strongest possible 28mm bar with Oly markings. In the end, I chose Vulcan over a similarly priced bearing bar for three reasons:
1. Tensile strength – I was determined to never need another bar, and nobody could touch the 221k psi
2. I wanted to support a veteran-owned business, and had no idea where the other bar was manufactured, or who saw the money
3. The murdered out black on black
The one thing that has stood out to me the most since I’ve owned the bar is its sound. Many bars rattle around internally, but the Vulcan is nearly silent! I’ve loaded it up with an assortment of bumper and steel plates and it sounds like a bare bar. Great work, Vulcan.
