VULCAN makes hands down, or rather hips hinging forward, the best KB's on the market!
I have handled them all and own 4 other premium brands... though I am selling the others off.
I have been recommending VULCAN to everyone. Sure you could feel like you're saving money when buying a cheap 35# to start as a beginner, but really building quality form is safer with this shape bell and handle. 300 correct reps for your brain and muscles to KNOW a movement... 5,000 correct reps to fix and retrain BAD habits and patterns. Too many of my friends have a power-robbing squatty pattern because they started with a WIIIDE handled bell. Sure at first that seems better for two-hand grip and stability... but the cutout of the interior of the VULCAN is so ergonomic that it fits two hands great despite being narrow. Plus, strength and grip gains come so fast with KB training that you'll likely be doing one-handed swings soon (so much more glute activation... more hingey less squatty naturally).
The narrow horn handle allows for proper body mechanics for the swing (clean form and posture is much more natural as there is no wide handle to avoid with the knees or thighs). The grip is smooth enough to avoid cheese-grated hands and textured enough to have some friction and confidence the bell won't fly through a wall even after getting sweaty.
I have the 16kg-20kg-24kg and just got the 32kg. The 16-24kg are identical in shape size and texture. The 32kg is slightly smoother, shinier and the handle is a little less girthy. At first I thought they had sent a COMPETITION/PRO style in error... then I remembered those are all painted bright colors.
I love the training version. Best bang for the buck and no paint to chip.
My only gripe is the 32kg is currently the heaviest on their website. I have an off brand 88# that's chipping but I would love a 100# and a 120#+ from VULCAN if they someday make those.
PS The 32kg sleeps at the foot of my bed. Been doing Pavel's "Simple and Sinister" every morning. PR'd Deadlift and Squat by 40#+ each.
