I've purchased from several barbell companies but Vulcan Strength is my favorite and the only brand I plan to purchase from now on.
PRODUCT
I've purchased both a power bar and a crossfit/dual purpose bar, as well as bumper plates, from both Vulcan and Rogue. In all 3 cases I prefer the Vulcan products. The Vulcan Absolute Power Bar has great knurling but does not cut you up the way the Rogue Ohio Power Bar does. The Rogue literally sliced open my forearms when I dragged them across the knurl...like I was attacked by an alley cat. The Vulcan Standard bar has a good medium knurl, while the Rogue 2.0 knurl is barely there. And the Vulcan bumper plates feel like real rubber while the Rogue plates are plasticky and discolored over time. Also the Rogue 10-lbs. plates are warped.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
I've reached out to customer service on several occasions. I wanted to purchase a barbell on Cyber Monday but the website was unresponsive due to high traffic. I called them and they placed my order over the phone. Another time I called because they shipped me standard spring collars instead of the more expensive compression collars. They told me to keep the standard collars and shipped out the compression collars. And always I was able to speak to an actual human on the phone like an old fashioned company.
