This is the first time I have used e fags so my experience is somewhat limited and I have nothing to compare them to. Initially, they give a hit at the back of the throat not dissimilar to real fags, but they do have a number of drawbacks, The leave you with a slightly burning sensation in the throat, mouth and lips. There is also a sweet aftertaste, which I do not like. I have also experienced a dryness in the mouth which makes me constantly drink. The tips do not last very long. At the rate I "puff", I go through about 1 to 2 tips a day. So a pack of 4 tips lasts me 2 to 4 days, depending on usage. Not too bad costwise, certainly a lot cheaper than the real thing. However, cost is not the main reason that I chose to use them. The Jury is still out on these for me. I'll give it a month or two and see whether I get accustomed to the experience.
