We use Wightlink for our day trips to the Isle of Wight, it's a pleasant journey from Romsey through the New Forest. Though a road journey often with en-route delays we always make Wightlink's terminal in time albeit with perhaps 10 minutes prior to departure, you're waved through with a smile from the martialling yard official. A ferry journey through 'nature' and not past oil refineries, ashore at Yarmouth and within 5 minutes you're driving in unspoiled Vectis countryside - escape from the mainland!
