I love my wooden flowers from Woodpeckers Crafts! My window boxes are on the south side of the house and impossible to keep sufficiently watered, even with these special window boxes with a reservoir. I primed and painted my new large wooden flowers, nailed them to a one-inch square wooden dowel (a garden support stake) 12" high so they could show above the edge of the window box. I drilled holes in a scrap 2x4 piece (about 24" long) to accept the "stem." A one-inch drill hole accepted the "stem" just fine with a couple of taps from a hammer. It was snug enough that I didn't have to use any adhesive. Then I filled the window box with mulch to hide the 2x4. I painted both sides of the flowers because we can see them from inside the house too. They look great!
