The wood blocks I purchased from Woodpecker turned out to be more than perfect for purpose I bought them for. In my case however I did not need to change them at all from the way I received them. They were already well crafted and clean looking enough for my use of them being spacers to keep the back of my couch from sliding flush against the wall behind it. We needed the space that the blocks help us maintain so as to protect items that fit between the couch and wall. But we also wanted the blocks to look nice from the angles that they might be seen. And the blocks from Woodpecker came perfect for that purpose as is. However they are so well crafted that if I wanted to change them, lacquer, paint, sand whatever - they would be very easy to work with. Again, very well crafted and I would recommend them to anyone needing decorative or functional wood blocks!
