I own a custom picture framing business and we use square dowels to secure glass floats into the rabbet of the assembled frame. I was pleased to find your 3/16" x 48" product as we have had problems finding the 3/16" in recent years. The 1/4" also works, but frame rabbets vary in width from 3/16" to 5/16" so it is a bit too wide for about 25% of the frame rabbets. In prior years, the hobby stores stocked what I needed but as of 2019, I was unable to find what I needed. Thank you Woodpeckers for your vast assortment of products.
